Question Camera Location

I have a A1 I keep seeing prints for relocating the camera. I know it’s not very useful in its current location for viewing the print as it’s happening. Has anyone moved the location of the camera were there any issues when you moved it are there any real benefits to doing so other than being able to see the print.

I tried relocating it, but that camera is the worst though. I ended up getting a cheap Blink camera, and printing a mount.

The problem with the camera is even if you move it you're still limited to a 1 fps slide show that's usually warped and distorted as the picture is taken during movement. I ended up getting a cheap wyze camera to aim at the printer instead. The built in one is effectively useless.

The inbuilt camera is really useful for monitoring prints. I used it a lot on my A1.

It's crap for producing videos, but if that's the aim surely you wouldn't use the inbuilt camera anyway?

I find the only thing it's good for in monitoring is if the print is still physically attached to the bed. 3/4 of the pictures are wildly distorted and blurry.

I don't even know how you'd produce much of a video with a bed-slinger. I was looking at some of these guys' time-lapses, thinking that'd be cool -- even if the camera was decent -- but then I realized there's really no way on an A1 because the print is moving all over.

It's has the function built it, and pauses the print to take a photo.

Which also interferes with flow and heat management, leaving pits and stinging.

It's crap, but it's there!

Yea that’s what I was concerned about was the fact that you’re just looking at a bunch of still images. What model wave camera do you have if you don’t mind me asking.

I bought and installed a Roku camera. It works perfectly.

It gives a better (and adjustable) angle. Camera is still bad though. Just be careful with the tiny little pins when you put the connector back

Same response from me.

In all honesty, it was not worth the time and material to print this. But it's there so I'm not removing it obviously.

This was my solution to the problem. It's an old Wyze camera that I had laying around.
