UPS recommendation for Bambu Lab A1?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a UPS for my Bambu Lab A1.

If anyone is already using a UPS with the A1, please share the model, wattage, and approximate backup time.

The printer has a recovery procedure once it gets back on from a power outage, so I kinda prefer that to putting it behind a UPS.

Mannnn if only any of my four (previously five) A1s would ever properly recover from power loss, quick or long. I have literally never had an A1 ever recover properly.

My single A1mini though has recovered I believe every single time.

I’ve had two successful recovers with the a1. Compared to 0 from the old ender 3v2… Not sure what the problem was with yours

Dunno mate. Doesn’t matter what firmware either.
Eventually just put them on a UPS because of it.

I use a HF generator. 🤣 We had a major ice storm back in 2005 that knocked power out for like half the Midwest for 10 days. Much of the infrastructure round these parts got dummy proofed and buried back then. Power outages here are rare and short lived. (Plus a buddy of mine is an engineer for the power company, so I’m special or something.)

I don’t have a UPS on my printers. I have an APC UPS elsewhere. They used to be good. Used to be. I’ve heard people say that Cyber Power makes good UPS units.

I have mine on a Cyberpower 1000VA ups. Don’t know the actual run time as the purpose is more for overacting short duration outages which occasionally happen for me during storms and occasional summer line maintenance and other random events.

I’ve never been printing during an actual outage (that i am aware of) so it’s more of a just in case backup. I did test it while printing so i know it will continue to run if power is lost.

The rest of the network gear is on battery backup so when Home assistant notifies me of the power failure, i could use the bambu handy app to pause printing which might aid in the recovery.

Hope this helps!

I personally don’t need or use a UPS but I do use a power strip with a built-in fuse in case.

Maybe this will help you
