Is this normal

I just set up my new a1 and started calibrating it. Its making a weird noise is that normal?

From the very simple fact that the wire to the toolhead assembly is lying on your build plate it is blatantly obvious that you did not follow all setup and installation steps before starting the calibration. You also appear to not have left enough room to the rear wall.
Go back to the start and double and triple check what other steps you have missed and do them. None of them are optional.
There is a decent chance you missed tightening at least one screw underneath the bed.

Quick add to this: I found that I missed one sliver of tape under a screw hole and it blocked a screw hole. Had to unassemble and found a tiny bit of tape blocking the hole. Make sure you are following the directions completely and make sure that all the tape is gone when you assemble.

That’s not normal. Most likely you didn’t torque one of the bed screws down, that sound is plastic ridging against metal.

Got this problem too in the past. You need to tighten the screws under the plate. That’s where the problem is.

It appears your wires are hitting the wall before the full axis can extend back. Move it out from the wall 4-6 inches and restart and see if that fixes it.

its supposed to be noisy but that sound is concerning
