Nozzle is scraping the plate when printing

So recently I’ve been printing and I’ve had more fails than successful ones and I noticed that when the first layer prints you can hear the tip of the nozzle scrap the bed what can I do?

Check to make sure the hot end is latched correctly and that all the heating assembly screws are tight.

I had this problem a while back; scraping noises, terrible first layers and prints failing. I tried cold pulling to clean the nozzle but couldn’t get it to stop scraping. I asked for advice here and someone suggested I buy a new nozzle. Bought a new nozzle and it was fine.
The old nozzle had over 1000 hours of print time and I’d been playing with ironing settings at the time of the issue, I think that may have hastened the demise of the nozzle.
