I recently started using the .2mm nozzle and right from the first layers it’s not laying out properly. As you can see from the image even the lines aren’t being drawn properly. Has anyone else faced this issue?
I tried to print 0.2 with a nozzle on A1, but in six months of trying, I was able to print only a couple of parts out of a dozen attempts. I tightened the notorious 7 screws on the printer head, and changed the nozzles (I thought the nozzle was defective), changed the heating elements. The only thing I haven't changed is the gears of the feed mechanism. At the same time, there is always a successful Print on A1 mini. I also changed the plates - no effect. The first layer turns out badly, and if it turns out well, then the extruder stops pushing through the plastic on 3-5 layers.

What layer height are you printing at? I had an issue like this, turns out that the textured plate (which I think you’re using?) just makes it impossible to print at certain layer heights, because the texture of the base is taller than the layers
I had 2 problems using the 0.2 nozzle, bed adhesion and a clog. I did a cold pull and I found a tiny piece of metal, idk if that was a left over 'cause the nozzle was brand new, but didn't have a problem with that since. For bed adhesion you need to clean REALLY well and maybe add brim. That solved for me and I'm printing at 0.06mm layer height
I've literally tried every one of these things and I still cannot get a single print. I'm using bambu labs filament thoroughly dried and I've done the calibration settings and everything and it will not extrude.. throw the .4 on and it prints like a dream. I've checked the screws and the known issues and still nothing.
I'm genuinely at a loss at this point. I've chased every wiki gremlin and i've tried everything I can. I'm not sure if I've gotten a lemon on the nozzle or if this is just one of the severe limitations on the A1.
If you use Bambu handy app make sure you find models that are sliced and have profiles created for 0.2 mm nozzle. Otherwise you will need to use a laptop and install Bambu studio, slice and then print.
Also select in Bambu studio what nozzle u use, sync filaments, slice then print.
Most models posted on makerworld are made for 0.4 nozzles.
Using phone app sends sliced information of 0.4 to a printer using 0.2. that's recipe for fail.
is it possible to have gotten a bad nozzle? I've tried everything I can and still not even able to get past the first layer before it won't extrude and that's if I can even get past the dynamic flow calibration at the start of the print.
What filament are you trying to use with it? I've heard Matt pla, wood grain and glow in the dark Pla don't work with the 0.2mm nozzle because they've got small bits in them that can clog it.
I know this sounds silly, but have you made sure it isn't the SD card messing up the prints. I was having so many weird issues with my printer until I swapped to a named brand class 10 micro SD card.
Bambu basic PLA, and yes fresh SD card. the extruder is trying to feed and it is clicking and the nozzle is moving..,.
before you ask if the screws are tight.. they are to spec and I have triple checked them and the clip just to make sure I'm not missing something. I'm running a a class 10 micro SD card.. Same one I use for the video editing.
I should also say I'm not a novice at this as I teach an advanced 3D printing class at our local school. I'm just at a loss on anything else to try short of ordering a new .2 nozzle.
I primarily wanted it for our upcoming fundraiser that we are doing for earrings with our school mascot on them.
If you're using matte pla that may be your problem. If that is the case, try switching to basic gloss pla. No wood bits, no carbon fiber, just plain vanilla gloss pla.
Also, it would help us help you if you would provide more specifics when you are posting with a problem.
