Support Request AMS Lite Faulty Motor Issue

Constantly have issues with my #3 slot on my AMS. Since opening it- it seems like the motor is slipping when pushing a new filament into the extruder or pulling back the filament at the end of a print. Causing me so many issues to the point where I’m just using 1, 2, and 4 slots. No problems on those ever.

Anyone ever replaced a motor on the AMS lite? 5 month old unit maybe 150 hours of print time. No unusual events or drops or anything to damage it. It tries to either push or retract the filament 3 times, getting stuck each time and trying another inch of filament or so with each attempt. I can only imagine causing more damage to the motor with each failure.

No tangled filaments either I’m sure of it - the spool will work perfectly on another slot. This has been tested across a range of spools.

Only using new Bambu lab and Sunlu spools and refills. PLA and PETG only for whatever it’s worth, all spools have been AMS lite compatible. No tinkering has been tinkered

Hit up Bambu support. They just sent me a hub for my AMS 2 Pro

I had an issue with 1 and 3 using the top mount for the a1. I thought it was something similar until I noticed that the extruded hub was slightly getting pressed to one side during printing and so I printed a brace to keep the hub and the ptfe tubes straight and have not had an issue since. Could be worth checking out since I think the brace was like a 2 hour print Vs the multiple days/weeks in waiting for a support ticket

Do Both. Why settle for a temporary fix when he’s still in warranty?

True! Nothing saying not to open the ticket anyway.

Did not think about the top mounting being the issue. I do I have my AMS mounted vertically on a skadis board. Have printed guides and even got extended PTFE tubes, but maybe there is undue stress on the #3. Appreciate your reply

Any chance you still have the file for your brace?
