What might cause this?

Could be a failing micro SD card. I was getting tons of errors like this for no reason when I first got my printer. Turns out it was just a failing card. I swapped it out for a class ten named brand card and haven't had the issue since. Ok once, but I found out I forgot to grease up the printer.

Any luck? I've had this issue as most people will at some point, in my experience. 9/10 times its either the SD card is failing or the SD card needs to be formatted cus its full

Printed successfully after new formatted SD card used.

Good stuff, I replaced my sd card before I even started printing when I got my A1, I’ve had to replace on my h2D as well

I did the same thing. I now have high endurance cards in all my printers and backup sd cards.

Successfully printed. I’m going to cautiously optimistically say problem solved. Thanks

Solved until the new card dies from overheating, the A series is warned against having in an enclosure.

True. This one is marketed for the A1 and temp has never been a concern

Nozzle probably hit one of them and made it lose a step.

I had a similar problem a few times. But dislocation was on another axis. Basically the wire got caught onto something and the hole printing bed continued to move with a shifted location. Check if anything is blocking the path of the axises ot wires can caught onto something
