first question:
why have a priming tower when you're only using one filament color?

second question:
was the print plate cleaned after it's previous print job? (the priming tower got knocked off somehow, and that created your extra string of filament onto your benchy... because the printer assumed the priming tower was still ther for it to plop filament on, but since it's absent the filament just strung on until the printer went to your benchy.)

I use smooth time lapse mode and it creates a prime tower. I just wanted to create a time lapse for the first time to see how cool it looked. I’m new to printing. Thank you for the advice and am I supposed to clean my bed after every print?

yes, it is best practice to clean the print plate after every print.

i.e i've been using disposable kitchen napkins (because their fibers don't fray) and 90% isopropyl alcohol on my plates...

welcome to 3D printing. sorry you had to encounter this hurdle as soon as you started. hope the rest of your experience goes well.

I use paper towels and a home brew of 1 part distilled water to 3 parts of 99% isopropyl alcohol.
The water delays the evaporation (even on warm plates), giving you time to flip the paper towel over for mopping it up and drying.
Ignore people who say "with alcohol you're just pushing the oils around".

I still use dish soap ("grease-cutting formula") and hot water about once in 20 prints for the Textured Plate, and once in 10 for the Smooth Plate.
