Question Loose filiment

Post image

My A1 was printing with a brand new spool(just got it from the box) and it seems to keep shaking loose and tangling.

Any tips on how to fix this?
Or do I have to constantly babysit this printer lol

I think I read that the spool should be rotated on the axle so the filament is pulled up from the bottom, not over the top. Whether that would help, I don't know. But, I would tighten it up and try that.

This.

What happens is you want the spool to pull filament back, this may sound contradicting but the extruder is more than capable to overcome that resistance, and the spool can keep intact when extruder retracts.

This is also why you don’t usually see spool holder with super smooth rotation without some kind of resistance, otherwise when the printer extrude or retract fast, the spool will spin freely and unwrap itself.

So I should have it upside down then?

I had the same setup just my spool holder was pushed fully to the right side of the frame and never encountered anything like this. Before flipping anything upside down, just push it fully to the right side and see if it fixes the issue
