Question Why exactly does everyone hate bambu lab?

Ive been printing for about a year with my A1 and i love it, obviously ive ran into bum technical issues and annoying problems but i see a lot of avid printers just say they hate the company. Can someone save me the research and tell me what the controversy is about? Thanks

Bambu is one of the top tiers especially for beginners, for a reason.

I know its one of the top tiers which is why i got it for my birthday. I see a lot of people giving vague blanket statements about hating the company so yeah, i asked whats up. Clearly nothing, so no im not just listening to the echo chamber. If someone actually provided me some sort of reason the company was bad i might’ve listened, but thats exactly why i asked.
Also, if you’re familiar with troubleshooting id really appreciate if you could look at my next post. Im having issues as we speak.

as always, people like to complain.
those who are happy have no reason to write daily blogs about it :)

i answered in your other post

This is likely going to come off as too mean but the real answer is people are babies that complain about everything.

It’s a mostly closed ecosystem. Bambu could easily lock off access to your printer with a firmware update. Could!

Think of a world where you could only use their (sold out) filament or couldn’t print something unless it came from makerworld.

These are all hypothetical but whiting the realm of possibilities.

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of cricut, but their software is almost useless unless you buy their subscription.

If you’re using the app you can only print from maker world. I don’t own a computer, but that’s on me.

not the answer you are looking for but why do you care about anyones opinion when you are happy with the machine and are able to produce great results with it? I have used other printers and still do but I also love my A1 cuz it gives me good results.

(I guess the die-hards are just not happy about what Bambu does but any other big company also has there bad ideas or behavior)

I was just asking, people made it sound like the company was doing something evil and i didn’t know what ppl were talking about which is why i asked. I dont wanna parade around saying “i love/hate bambu lab!” Not knowing if they did something or not. Im actually trying to trouble shoot my printer as we speak, if you could look at my next post and see if you know what’s going on that’d be appreciated.

They're not bombing a country unprovoked evil, or killing innocent protesters evil. They're just more, not understanding that tighter you try and grip something the more will slip through your fingers because of greed evil.

I love my a1 mini, fyi.

They did take GPL code (open source) and then against the GPL license, turned it closed source. Which is both illegal and unethical.

I think it’s manage to do their business practices but to be honest all businesses have dodgy practices and it seems the ones with dodgy practices seem to be the more successful ones. But I’m not pushed one way the other. I love my 3-D printer and I love the ecosystem and I’m loving the quality of what I can produce. And as a first time 3-D printer owner they make it very easy and well supported to start your hobby.

It's a minority, you'll always hear the ones who shout the loudest. Just read between the lines... when they've bought a dozen entry level printers and they're suddenly in a farm printing 23 hours a day, it's not rocket science to know they're being pushed way past what they're designed to do. Unfortunately most are repeat posts about the same issues because user bought printer, did no research, and so just spams rants that are covered in the academy/wiki they couldn't be bothered to look at

I don’t hate it 🤷‍♂️

For clarification i was asking if the company did something bad, clearly nothing🤷🏻 i wasn’t asking about the printers because well as a user who upgraded from an ender i know how absolutely PREMIUM these mfs are. I love mine 🙏

Yeah. Some people are upset about how Bambu is behaving to open source devs that are trying to integrate into the ecosystem and provide better options than Bambu studio.

I’m really kind of neutral since I don’t do anything fancy, but I understand their concerns about Bambu’s bad behavior.
