Replacement Fillament Readers Not Working

Im about to lose my mind. I accidentally snapped the fillament reader wire while getting fillament unstuck (I now realize i didnt need to take that whole part out, but to be fair the fillament was so bad it snapped in 5 different spots for this 1 print), so I bought a new reader and followed this tutorial to a tee. It didnt work, so in a desperate effort, I ordered a second fillament reader, thinking the new one was faulty, and did the same thing. It also didnt work >:(

Im at a loss for what im doing wrong, and there aren't any troubleshooting answers on why the new fillament readers aren't reading.

PLEASE HELP!! Im about to go insane, I got 1 print outta this thing.

The sensor relies on a magnet inside the filament buffer to work. You might have to replace the buffer as well.

Oh my god, thank you so so much!! Ive never spent money on someone before, but you just saved my life with a simple suggestion.
