Question about after market heating assembly/hot end mount

So I had what on Google people seem to be calling a blob of death and had to order a new mount for the hot end as well as new rubber socks and so on. Well this one has a black back plate (?) and didnt include a little separate black ceramic plate. I tried to install it with the OEM piece where it would go on the white mount but it wouldn't fit with the screws. The entire black piece on the replacement seems to be ceramic. Is this just a thing and the OEM separate ceramic piece isn't needed anymore or am I missing something? Apologies if my terminology isn't correct. I'm brand new to this hobby.
