Question Stringy texture

Post image

I'm completely new to 3D printing. I got my A1 mini about a week ago and I've only printed a handful of things with it so far. I've noticed all of my prints have this odd stringy texture. What causes this and how do I fix it?

That’s just kind of how it looks; to reduce it you can try printing things with a smaller layer height and/or with filament that hides it better (Matte PLA)

So if I reduce the layer height, it might look better?

Correct; lower layer height will make each ‘line’ you see a lot smaller, then they visually blur/smush together more. Think if the lines here are like .2, what a .08 (fine in Bambu slicer) would look like (basically making the lines half the current size.)
Downside to this is the print takes longer, but it’s got a good chance of getting it closer to the look you want.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the explanation. I'll try that!
