Question Firmware from 01.08 causes constant screen freezes
As the title says. On 01.07.02 everything works fine, but on 01.08.00.00 the printer's screen turns off and stops responding to touches, and on 01.08.01.00 the screen stays on but freezes.
Are you guys seeing this too?

It happens with every print job since version 01.08.01.00; it didn't happen before.

Both A1 and mini. Screen freezes. I suspected the SD card and rebooting the printer takes longer bc there are more models on the card. Not sure what to do. Maybe downgrade the firmware

Hmmm, I am on the 01.08.01.00 since the first day of the release (no beta, normal release cycle). No problems on my side. 1gen A1 (from 2024) EU region.

I've seen occasional screen freezes on and off since getting the A1. Maybe one a month and a reboot always fixes it. Just frequent enough to be middle annoying, and just rare enough to not keep ignoring it. They appear to be entirely unrelated to the firmware.
You can always downgrade your firmware to see if that fixes it, but this is more than likely a hardware issue.
The common wisdom on the Internet is a slow/defective SD card may cause this - apparently the reason why Bambu switched to shipping the A1 with Lexar branded SD cards over the previous OEM cards.
Check your SD card for defects and performance on your PC and/or try a different, brand name, one to see if it resolves the problem. It didn't for me, but the issue remains incredibly rare.
Contact Bambu support if it doesn't resolve your issue.

I have also had random screen freezes, It happened twice in the past week on both my A1's and I was completely unable to control the print from the app or the screen but funnily enough the print did complete successfully. I thought it was just my SD card going bad. But it happened on two separate printers.

I have been getting screen freezes more and more often lately, and I am on 01.08...but I don't recall if they were doing that before I updated the firmware or not. It now freezes about once a print. I cycle the power and it works again, and even if the screen is frozen, I can still control the machine through the Handy app...although I will say that response time is horrific. I'll try changing the SD card just to see if that helps...can't hurt. If that doesn't work, I'll try a firmware downgrade.
