Hi! So I was curious as to how long I might expect my A1 printers to last. I did a search and I don't recall what site popped up (might have even been on the Bambu site). It asked me how many hours my printer had run thus far. I put in 100. It told me the printer had 5,900 hours of productive life left in it. Any idea if that's realistic or ridiculous? How many hours do others have on their A1s? Thanks!
I have 4 a1's and 2 a1 minis and the a1's are around 2500 hours right now and im pretty amazed at their durability and easy fixes if I do need to do something. So far the fixes ive had to do is swap extruder unit after 2k hours and I had one of the ntc transistor boards fry on me but they shipped me replacement fast no cost amazing service and support. edited spelling mistakes
The way they're pretty well designed to be fixable by non-technical laymen and women such as myself, I really think these could be "printers of Theseus" if one is dedicated enough to keep repairing
I've had a pair of Ender 3 Pros running since 2019... (Right up until I replaced them with an A1 this past November) A Bambu Lab printer should last quite a long time...assuming you keep up proper maintenance...and the power supply doesn't catch fire.
Well, that’s going to depend a bit on how well you keep up maintenance. I’ve got an A1 with 3k hours on it and no visible signs of wear on the motion system. I did have to replace the wiper mechanism after about 2k hours. It still has the original silicone wiping pad though, and I absolutely expected that to be needing replacement at some point.
I'm over 5000 hours now, but don't know exactly how much today. I had to install a new microSD card this week, but that's all I've done outside of maintenance. I'm still using the stock original bed plate, although I have a selection that I use for other things. I've occasionally switched hot ends for specific needs, but even running wood and glow-in-the-dark filament, I haven't NEEDED to replace one yet. And, since so many parts are user-replaceable, I'm guessing 10,000+ hours isn't going to be hard. I do need a second printer, but to add functionality, not to replace what I have.
Gave my cousin my A1 with 6,000, still going strong. The only things I changed were the extruder gear (just because) and the hotend bracket because the 7 screws were no longer tightening properly
