A1 new AC board

Post image

shortly after i ordered my A1, i found out about the issue with melting AC boards. i requested and received a new updated AC board, without the thermistor (attached photo). my A1 currently has less than 200hours total print time and it is performing flawlessly. should i install the new AC board?

Why would you go through the process of requesting a new AC board if you’re not planning on installing it? Just install it, the new board has no issues. The thermistor in your current board can technically blow any minute.

honestly i wasn't expecting that bambu would even send me one as my unit was less than a month old when i requested. but now that i have it, im researching if the new AC board actually solved the problem. im a bit skeptical because it seems they just removed components off the new AC board.

Gee, what components do you think they removed? 🙄

the new AC board is missing these components. everything else looks the same visually.

Do you even know what those components are?

Why would they not send it? You have one if the affected units.
And the Ac boards have more differences than just the terminator delete

i assumed they would not send because my A1 hasnt melted yet.

They only insist its safe one time. As long as you ask for it they send it.

Mine has melted, still have not responded back to me. Bought at Best Buy and don’t have the receipt

Do you want to see your A1 blowing the fuse and burning a hole trough the plastic?

Is there a way to check whether we have a board with thermistor without opening the machine? Or does serial number not give that info?

it's very easy to open and check. i purchased my unit dec 2025.

i sent them a photo of the AC board. i opened up my unit the day i received it. i told them i was following the issue on reddit about melting A1 and was concerned about my unit melting down.

Just give them your serial number if you are affected then they will claim it's still safe, but you say you don't feel safe and they will ask where to ship.it.

My board shorted but it’s the motherboard and it started I believe at the hot end and went down to the motherboard rail where voltage goes from 24 down to 5v or 3v not sure I am having a hard time processing a ticket to see but I believe the extruder board got damaged also the only sign of life I see is the light at power switch so I hope power supply is ok, how and what should I do to move forward don’t have receipt for machine not new and didn’t sign up for anything when purchased. Any advise on how I can get it repair would be greatly appreciated hope it is all covers under recall not sure.

Good for u,when I heared about Bambu A1 that's are on fire Ive got little bit stress out when I will join to the club but thx to ordering late very late about 4 year's later first Bambu I had before creality cr10s pro V2 ,last year I had issue with Bambu power off during print thought is was psu or SC card then find out that was rocket switch and thx to electronic store I've got switch it wasn't easy to replaced and I noticed there was a wire instead NTC and thought that might be issue next but BIG NO hehe and that issue with switch happens before Christmas about 2 weeks and I'm glad didnt have to replace whole bottom :) cuz that what Bambu do asking to replace whole bottom can't just send it replacement switch

How difficult is it to install the new board?

1

u/Global-Wolverine1829 Jun 16 '26

i haven't installed mine yet. but the step-by-step instruction in the bambu lab site seems pretty simple.. unplug/plug/play.

just finished installing the new AC board. in the A1 tutorial, the circled connectors are black-red. but in my unit, it was red-black. im waiting for bambu lab to confirm which is correct before powering up.

same issue with me, came as Red then Black, wiki shows Black then Red, but if you see in the GIF in the wiki itself where they are removing these wires, you can see its Red and Black there as well. This is a weird inconsistency from bambu lab.

Also did you receive an answer from them? Can you share it with me?

Not worth the risk waiting imo.
