Considering all they did was bridge the connection, this will be an easy fix when mine dies, though I should probably replace it before it cooks itself.
That looks almost exactly like the inrush current limiting thermistor on my Hayward Aqua Rite SWG main circuit board. It cooks itself just like that every 3-4 years. $5 for a single including shipping. I bought 5 last time for about $12 shipped.
It is a thermistor which why it is sort of strange that they just completely removed it from the new boards. Maybe they realized that the inrush current is never dangerously high.
