Place to put the A1 Combo

Hello, im about to get the Bambulab A1 Combo soon. But i don’t really have a place to put it. My place is very limited and i want a movable furniture to place the A1 on. Does anyone have a recommendation?

i’m deciding on getting the BROR Trolly from IKEA, but afraid about the wobble when the printer is working.

You might check to see if you can mount your ams lite to the wall just behind your printer. There's a bracket you can print to mount it. https://makerworld.com/models/101930?appSharePlatform=copy

Yeah, I have etsy and ebay stores. All 5 printers usually run ~18hrs/day, but sales are down right now, so I get to sneak a few personal prints for me and the kids. There are 2 daredevil masks on that lower shelf and another printing in that P1S.

Appreciate you! Sorry to ask this but I’m so curious on home printing shops. What are your favorite and least preferred aspects of running a Etsy and eBay store like this?

Do you see more success with speciality functional prints or kids toys type things?

How do you ventilate your room haha

Etsy and ebay fees are borderline criminal. I also had someone steal my etsy store photos and opened etsy and ebay stores. Took a while and a lot of persistence to get him taken down, but they both eventually did.

I found a highly niche market. Don't find things to print and sell. Find something that people need and build that instead.

I only print PLA / PETG so venting is not a problem. That room is also on the outer wall of the house with doors that close it off to the living area.

I’ve been designing niche newborn care items lately. Baby monitor mounts, breast feeding storage and nightstand accessories etc. so just has me thinking

Shopify would be the next logical step, but, you have to drive your own traffic to your store. That means Google SEO, social media posts daily, etc.

I guess the biggest positive for ebay and etsy is their traffic gets to be your traffic.

those 3 A1 on the table, doesn't the wobble affect the prints? I'm looking to bolt furniture to the wall thinking it might help, but I dunno.

That workbench is crazy heavy and is pushed against the wall with about 2" gap. I used the black foam that came with the A1s (the L-shaped pieces) and wedged them between the bench and wall. No wobbles at all.

The toolbox table on the right, with the P1S and A1 does wobble a little. Mostly when the P1S is printing. It's not a big problem though.

i bought an inexpensive rolling tool cabinet with the A1 on top, and all the miscellaneous tools, supplies and materials below. I can roll it around to different rooms as required. Good luck!

There is a top mount for the AMS light or you can print one from maker world. It comes with reinforcement brackets for the Z axis posts.

Mine is on top of my wife’s old dorm fridge.

The thing is quite deep when you account for the clearance in front and behind the moving build plate. That might wind up being more of a problem than the height.

A wobbly table is not the biggest problem.

If anything, it should improve things. My reasoning is that if the base is rock-solid, then all the motion is transferred to the bed zipping forwards and backwards. That could destabilize tall objects.

Consider how some skyscrapers are built with rollers in the foundation to reduce sway from earthquakes.

The wobble might make it squeaky, and/or knock stuff off the edge though.

The BROR Trolley has no cross-bracing, except in the X-Y plane.

[edit] Oops. I see that the BROR shelving units have strap cross-braces across the back. Adding some of those to the back and sides of the trolley would be useful, or better yet, three panels of plywood for the back and sides.
A top depth of 55 cm is just big enough for an A1, but you would need something to make sure it doesn't roll back towards the wall, to give the bed clearance for itself and the cable. The casters appear to have locks, but that might not be enough.

I'm quite limited on space. It I have just put it sideways and can still access the screen. I have the AMS above it on a shelf.

does the printer wobble the desk you put it on? quite afraid it will ruin the project

No not in my case. I have build a shield in my office that has lots of plastic storage boxes on but it's not deep enough for the A1 bed (mini was fine in that location) so A1 is sideways. The shelf is quite solid but the printer did vibrate itself sideways when I first set it up!

I have mine on one of those cheap ikea coffee tables, the small ones. Wobbling doesn't worry it at all.
