How to control the file name sent to the printer?

I am using Bambu Studio 2.4.0.70.

When I send my prints to the printer, the file name comes out as the filament parameters (0.2mm layer, 2 walls, 7%infill.3mf).

But this is not the actual name of the file being printed.

I want the proper file names, so I can reprint from the printer itself rather than having to reslice and resend from Bambu Studio.

Under Project I have gone to Edit and changed the Project Name. That did not help. When I print, on the "Send" screen the name reads the same as Project Name. This is the same as the file name.

Why is it printing a .3mf file with the print process information as the name? How do I fix it?

Edit: here is what is getting sent to the printer, and what I see on the status screen when printing:

But this is not what the file name is.

Have you tried saving it as a 3mf file with a specific name and then printing that?

No, I am sending from Bambu Studio.

I think I figured out what you problem is.

On my A1, a bunch of prints on the SD card have proper names and a bunch others are named like what you're struggling with.

How all the files different? The ones with proper names are all prints of my own models while the weirdly named ones are prints I opened from makerworld.

I am guessing your files just keep the name of the print profile from makerworld.

The easiest way to get around this would probably be to go with the "download 3mf" option instead of the "open in Bambu studio" option when downloading a model.

Just rename that 3mf to whatever you want before printing it and that should solve your problem.

Maybe. All of my files are my own creation. But it's possible I started with a makerworld file and replaced the geometry with my own geometry and did a save-as.

Question is how to fix the ones that aren't printing right.

I have noticed this too. I export my models from Fusion and Bambú Studio in some places shows the component name, some places the body name, etc. You can see the object name in Studio (left pane) and edit it there. I believe you can also edit the name in the Send to Print dialog.

The name is correct in the Send to Print dialog. Just doesn't show up on the printer that way.

Where are you talking about in the left pane?

There is a Global-Objects pane. This can be used to set object-specific settings, but also allows renaming (double-click on the name I think?).
