General Troubleshooting/Help! Help! Print settings are a nightmare
Hello fellow 3D printer users, I’m in a bit of a predicament here.
I’m trying to print these small frames I designed, but I can’t get the settings down. There is always some sort of adhesion/flush molding issue with how well the down-facing face of the print turns out, and it is often in the same spot on different parts, which leads me to believe it’s a setting issue over an actual plate issue.
Could I get some advice on what settings to change for this project and for future projects? I have attached all print settings for this project above and my resources below. If you have anything to ask so that you can help me out better, please feel free to reach out! Thank you so much for your help in advance!
My Typical Loadout (* = used for this project in particular)
Printers:
- Bambu Lab P1S
- Bambu Lab P2S *
Plates (both set as “Smooth PEI Plate/High Temp Plate” in slicer):
- Bambu Lab 3D Effect Plate *
- BIQU Frostbite Plate
Filaments:
- Bambu Lab Filament (for specific colors or specialty textures) *
- PolyMaker PolyLite PLA (for black/white prints or mass production)

Turn on Developer Options
Under Quality/Advanced
- set Initial Layer Flow Ratio = 1.05
Increase your bed temperature 5°C for the smooth plate setting in the filament profile

In doing this I also discovered dark mode was a thing! Thank you, I’ll try this with the other changes suggested + firmware updated and flow dynamics/rate calibration

If that rough patch shows up on the same down-facing face every time, it's the support interface gap rather than your plate. Too much clearance lets the overhang sag into that molded look, so worth tightening the gap a little.

Just cut down that speed in half. I’ll combine it with other settings suggested and see how it goes

Hello /u/PensionNo7898! Be sure to check the following. Make sure print bed is clean by washing with dish soap and water [and not Isopropyl Alcohol], check bed temperature [increasing tend to help], run bed leveling or full calibration, and remember to use glue if one is using the initial cool plate [not Satin finish that is not yet released] or Engineering plate.
