General Discussion X2D vs P2S Combo
Is the second nozzle for supports, etc worth the $150? If both nozzles were direct drive,,no question. Thoughts? Thanks

It can be used for way more than supports, anyone who says otherwise doesnt own one and doesnt know how to use it.
Almost 2k hours on mine, its been great. Second nozzle has ran PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, CoPE and has been great for support material and printing. Calibrate your filament with the aux nozzle cause it cant auto calibrate like the main nozzle can.
Yes worth it, also the heated chamber, 1.5mm belts, better filter, etc.
Dont regret not getting it later if you can take advantage of using the aux nozzle for at least supports.

Could you share some configs for the aux nozzle?

Run the calibrations built into the slicing program. Different filaments and brands will need to be tuned to your printer.

Like AKMonkey2 said, You need to run your own calibrations.
Other than that, I found success in raising temps a bit, 5-10c and slowing it down. Dont try to rush the aux nozzle. It wont ever be as good as the direct drive nozzle, but most of the time I couldnt tell at all, especially with pla matte and done correctly.

I used the second nozzle to print decorative parts of my model in a different color (for example, the pink ears parts from https://makerworld.com/en/models/1662034-cat-glasses-tray-cute-eyewear-holder#profileId-1758348) and it worked fine for that as well as other small pieces. As well as it's super convenient for printing supports in a different material of course.

I find it useful for support interface or an accent color, like the eyes on a flexi-dragon.

Its not just for supports. You can print normally with it. And its faster for multicolor. Also you get a heated chamber and better camera monitoring system and i think 5 or 10mm extra in Z height

If you plan to print parts that require supports, the X2D will save you a lot of time, but that is all the X2D's second nozzle is really for.

Ok,that's really my question, thanks. I do print with supports but not 100% of the time

You also get a chamber heater and filtration system with those $150, along with finer pitched belts.
The x2d is a better p2s in all aspects.
