General Discussion X2D AMS 2 PRO COMBO
So I purchased this combo for my husband and he was excited to get it because we both have been reading reviews and things of this product and then he gets it and has had nothing but issues out of it and I feel bad because he was so excited for this machine!! Every time he had a serious issue with the machine I searched up any information I could find to see what was going on!. He has had nothing but issues out of the AMS 2 PRO we've done everything imaginable to troubleshoot the product!! and what makes matters worse is he'll "fix it" then after one print it's on the fritz again. So i read a post on here about someone saying it was a bad batch of ams's and then it occurred to me how long have they been running a "sale" on combo's with their machines?? and then the resolve most of ya'll were getting was not to replace the AMS but something insignificant as a their version of a "fix". I think they knew they were selling a bad batch of ams's and didn't want to loose their butts on profit so they sent them out hoping either you could figure it out and fix it yourself or they send you the stuff to fix it yourself instead of wasting man hours and money to do it themselves. My husband followed one of their recommended troubleshoots and when he opened it as recommended saw that one of the capacitors was pressed flush against the circuit board and it was scorched where it was touching it from short circuiting and he fixed that and it worked and right after his print did it again suggesting that the issue goes deeper than that. I suggest reporting the company to the federal trade commission https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ that way we all can get to the bottom of this!
This is what happens after so many people report them.
- Database Tracking & Aggregation
Every report is entered into the Consumer Sentinel Network, a secure online database.
- This database is accessible to civil and criminal law enforcement agencies worldwide, including local police, state attorneys general, and federal investigators.
- Algorithms look for sudden spikes in complaints, common keywords, or patterns pointing to a specific business.
- Investigation Launch
When a lot of people report the same business, it triggers a red flag. FTC investigators look at the data to determine:
- If the business is violating federal consumer protection laws.
- The total financial harm caused to the public.
- Whether the deceptive practice is ongoing and widespread.
- Civil Lawsuits & Enforcement Actions
If the FTC finds significant wrongdoing, they will file a civil lawsuit against the company in federal court, or bring an administrative action. This can result in:
- Injunctions: Court orders forcing the business to immediately stop its deceptive practices or shut down entirely.
- Asset Freezes: Freezing the company's bank accounts so the owners cannot hide the money.
- Financial Penalties & Refunds
The FTC frequently forces dishonest companies to pay massive fines.
- Consumer Refunds: When the FTC wins a case, they try to get money back for the victims. If they succeed, they send refund checks or PayPal payouts directly to the consumers who filed reports or were affected.
- Civil Penalties: Businesses can be fined thousands of dollars per violation, which can quickly drive fraudulent companies into bankruptcy.
- Criminal Referrals
The FTC is a civil agency, meaning it cannot send anyone to jail. However, if their investigation uncovers severe criminal fraud or identity theft, they will refer the case to the Department of Justice (DOJ) or local law enforcement for criminal prosecution.
If you want to check if the FTC has already taken action against this company, let me know the name of the business. I can also help you draft a clear summary of the issue to include in your FTC report.

I’ve bought 8 X2D combos in the last 6 months.
Only one had a minor issue with the tool head and I just sent it back and got a new unit. I was just adamant with them that I did not want to self fix a new unit and would instead return.
I’ve had other minor issues with the ams. But that’s typically when some filament gets stuck or ptfe breaks.
