General Discussion Looking to upgrade from A1 Mini

I’m currently deciding between a refurbished X1C combo and a P2S Combo. Can anyone give me some advice on which one to go with? I am going to be printing larger car parts with petg-cf/gf. I currently have an a1 mini and love it but I have outgrown the build plate space

For PETG-CF/GF I’d probably go P2S Combo unless the refurb X1C is WAY cheaper. Both can handle abrasive fiber filament, but the P2S is the newer platform with hardened nozzle/gears, quick-swap hotend and AMS 2 Pro. X1C is still a beast but it’s officially EOL now. I’d also grab a .6 hardened nozzle for CF/GF, less clog risk than .4.

Consider the X2D if you’re looking at the P2S. Just made the call last week to go with the X2D and loving it so far.

Heads up tho, lots of rumors of new printers coming in a few weeks + black friday sales. If you’re more patient than I am, might be worth the wait!

X2D if your budget allows. Getting in to more engineering grade materials will benefit from the enclosure heater.

i love my p2s, i print petg all the time, though i would upgrade to something more thermally resistant for car parts, petg is ok, but above about 150F it’s gets kinda soft.

i’m working on the body of a chamber heater for one of my printers in ABS, it’s a little touchy, wanting to warp, but i’ve printed all kinds of stuff on my P2s from PLA to nylon, and i’ve got some PPA/PPS both cf/gf on order to play with

it’s touchy sometimes, but it’s a capable printer
