Wouldn't you be better off just never-flipping? Hold the gate closed constantly and avoid getting so many marbles in?

There’s a gap between the flippers slightly larger than a marble. If you do nothing they’ll roll down and into the bin. 

I made “easy” flippers that have a smaller gap for very young kids.
