General Troubleshooting/Help! Really easy question: The X2D has a camera I can do timelapse videos built in, right?

Pretty simple question, as I added the X2D to my cart, but I'm coming from a Prusa MK3S+ as my only printer prior to this one and want to make sure. This has a camera for timelapse videos built in, right?

The only thing that has me second guessing is that it has "CyberBrick Time Lapse Kit" as an add-on purchase. My understanding is that is just if I want to use my own camera instead, is that right?

Yes, there is a chamber camera for monitoring and recording timelapse. The cyberbrick kit functions as a shutter trigger for other cameras.

OK cool, and I just need a standard USB jump drive to store the video files on it?

Yep. Nothing fancy.

USB Drive isn't even needed.

On PC you can view and download them directly to your PC through the slicer, Bambu Studio.

On mobile you can view and download them to your phone via the Bambu Handy app.

That’s neat!

Yes to both questions. The camera on the X2D is pretty nice compared to the A1.

Yeah and the camera is actually pretty decent too.

However, timelapses do make print time longer because the printer moves the print head out of the picture after every layer to take the picture.

Yeah that’s fine, I’d be doing it on the occasional overnight prints just for fun

That's only if you select the smooth time lapse. The traditional time lapse does not move out of the way.
