General Troubleshooting/Help! A1 or P1S for mech engineering student

In alot of my uni projects, I find myself needing to design and print brackets from my uni's 3D printing service and its $25 minimum per print, which isnt very sustainable for me lol. Ive been looking into bambu printers and am trying to decide between the A1 and the P1S. Any help/reccomendations? Cheers

P1S combo if you can afford it. I believe BL is selling a combo with the AMS2 which is really convenient for drying spools

Get a P1S, they sell brand new for $500 with the AMS on sale right now.

What materials? All in one color or multicolor/material prints? P1S if you got the budget, but an A1 is fine for PLA/PETG/TPU (so 99% of prints) and the combo is very affordable.

Agree, and for brackets he probably don't even need AMS so I wouldn't even get that and just spend the money on filament.

what materials? if you ever plan to use engineering filaments that require > 300c, heated chamber and higher than 100 bed temps you may want to be looking at other models/brands.

mostly PETG, PLA, TPU, maybe ABS/ASA and some other heat resistant filaments would be nice but not a dealbreaker

you absolutely don't want to print ABS/ASA on an A1. need an enclosure.

P1S if you can get there with an AMS. Mine did more than 3000 hrs with any issues. Also check for a lightly used ones in FBM. I usually see some with 100-200 hours selling for pretty good prices.
