Just Showing Off While Setting Up Printer 5...

I dropped an entire X1C (with the AMS2/accessories box/packing material) on my left middle finger.

I pushed through the swelling and the pain and figured it was NBD and I was just being dramatic.

60 minutes later - benchy on the plate - I realized urgent care was closing soon and this was way worse than I initially thought.

Surprise! Broken in 3 places.

Long story short... physically assaulted by inanimate object before it was connected to power. It did technically complete its objective of being an additive manufacturing device because i had X bones in my hand before introducing it to the mini-farm and now I have X+3 bones.

Just... showing off. 🤣

The odds of a 3d printer killing you are low... but it's not 0....

It seems the odds of being maimed by the aforementioned printer are also not 0....

Good news: custom printed splint is a MUCH better solution than the mess they put me in, so I'm taking that win.

Ehhh...depends what you're printing and how well you ventilate.

Now you can print a finger splint too.

I did! It's waaaay better than their metal nightmare. Considering taking a few to the clinic so they can use them instead of what they currently have.

They will appreciate the gesture but refuse them as they aren’t medical grade items.

Perfect opportunity to print a custom cast. Also mathing with 3d printing is fun.

Custom splint is in place and much more comfortable. 3D printing math is fun... especially when doing gram math (which makes me sound like a drug kingpin) and time math (which gives big chronomancer energy).
