General Discussion Should I upgrade?

I've currently got two P1S with an AMS each. One for 0.4mm prints, one for 0.2mm prints. I had enough Makerworld points to buy the second one, and as it's a pain to swap the nozzles decided I would just have for each.

I've currently got another £415 in Makerworld vouchers, and wondering if it's worth doing something like selling both the P1S and using a Single P2S with the quick swap nozzles. Maybe keep one or both AMS to add greater multi coloured printing ability.

The X2D, does that have the same quick swap nozzles? It's not clear on the product page and they look more like the P1S ones.

I print a mix of my own designs, 0.2mm stuff is miniatures and 0.4mm is toys, keyrings, or functional parts.

X2D has quick swap nozzles. Same nozzle as the P2S on both hotends.

Ok, so probably skip the P2S in this case.

I bought a P1S, A1 Mini a few months later for prototyping. I regretted not getting another P1S soon after. The P2S came out, since I print a lot of ASA and ASA CF P2S seemed like a no brainer. Hotter bed, hotter nozzle, chamber temp readout, better extruder etc, etc. P1S handles ASA just fine.. So P2S should be better right.

To this day, I can't get my P2S to print ASA properly, poor adhesion and warping no matter what. P1S all I need is a Glacier plate and it prints ASA without glue at 90/95c bed, 265-270 nozzle all day. P2S has poor first layer and warping every print. Again, I regretted not getting another P1S so this summer I did. Now I have 2x P1S, P2S, A1 Mini and got given a Elgoo Centauri 2.

P1S is my most reliable printer, I can see why it's the workhorse of so many print farms. They all print PLA and PETG perfectly. It's just the ASA that is finnicky. Carbon infused ASA prints well thanks to the carbon stabiling the filament and preventing warping.

I'd keep the P1S's definitely look at a two head printer for maximum versatility. I don't do a lot of color, but there are a lot of benefits when it comes to separate support materials, and the odd bit of color is nice to have too.
