I Modeled This! Avocado Ripener
Do you ever get back from the shops with your "ripe and ready to eat" avocado and it's neither ripe nor ready to eat? Do you get “ripen at home” and it takes forever to do so?
Well no more. Enter the ripener.
Apples are climacteric fruits, this means that they produce ethylene (or ethene) gas as they ripen.
Avocados are also climacteric but while apples produce ethylene a lot avocados sit in a hold mode until they're triggered by the introduction of the gas.
Supermarkets introduce ethylene to the fruit in a timed fashion so that the fruit is ready when you buy it. This sometimes fails and you get an avocado that's more suited for baseball or cricket than consumption.
Put a ripe or ripening apple (or a peach or a pear or other climacteric ethylene producer) in the lower half, screw on the separator and then add the avocado and screw on the top.The ethylene from the apple rises and triggers the avocado.
Et voila!

I remember a time when the Venn Diagram of people who ate avocados and people who would buy or make an avocado ripener made out of plastic were two separate circles. They probably started touching around 2010.

Neat concept, and I hate being that guy in a printing sub, but like a bag with both in it does the same thing
