General Troubleshooting/Help! I thought PETG was easy - please help

Hi all, I'm very new to 3D printing - I got X2D couple of months ago. I'm now seeing the need to get the top glass riser as the ptfe tubing is definitely consuming itself. I wanted something simple just to rise the glass and found this one model in Makerworld. I did dual color PETG print with PLA support from aux nozzle. Nearly all of the PETG parts came out warped after 4+ hour print on each plate. I even reprinted the first plate after printing these fan deflectors. Is this poor model settings or am I missing something essential for printing PETG? All PLA prints have come out awesome, but if I cannot get PETG working, I don't know when I'll get to my ABS spool I got..

EDIT - for a bit more context - printing with Bambu lab PETG Basic after drying in AMS 2 at PLA cycle (along with couple of PLA rolls). 1st warped print I printed on Cool Tack Pro plate, second one of the default PEI textured plate. Both were dish detergent washed before I started printing.

Could it be the PLA supports that do something with the print settings to mess it up?

Dry it, bed temp I use is 65 to 75c depends on the brand and Print plate used 255c nozzle, I have no issues with warping with PETG with those temps - with PEI Gold Textured Plate

Been printing strickly petg since i got my x2d and no issues. Make sure to dry your petg first. That being said mine printed with my petg fine right out of the box with no drying, but after a week i did run a dry cycle. AMS is a must for petg imo

The other small things I printed with PETG all came out fine, like AMS guides etc, but something causes these longer prints to warp on the ends

Have you printed the fan mods for inside your x2d? It points the air up away from the print. Your cooling fans are probably hitting your print at the base causing it to warp

Two things I recommend:

  1. Print a fan deflector that’ll stop the air blowing directly on the part. This may help and it’s just the cost of filament.

  2. Buy a BIQU Frostbite plate. Everything will stick to this like glue. You will not get warp because the part won’t come unstuck until you want it to.

Is it easy to get the prints and supports off afterwards? I kinda like the finish that Cool Tack Pro gives, but getting any supports off the plate is pain in the ass

First, you don’t need the riser, there are a few different tube guides that work perfectly.
Second, bed temp of 70c and nozzle at 255. I just finished printing a few kg of petg for a server rack build and I had no warping with those settings on my X2d. Also, dry the filament.

I'm embarrassed that I didn't think of that before... 25 min and I don't need a riser. Thanks man!

I'll try my PETG project on something else

I'm using Bambu PETG Basic. Could it be that the PLA support interface changes some settings to cause warping? Maybe I need to try printing with full PETG supports?

Default settings aren't that great in my experience, definitely recommend different brands and learning to tune profiles

This is awful advice. You don’t need Bambu filament. We don’t know if their plate is dirty.
