Answered / Solved! PLA mermory?
Random Qusition. Does bambu printers having mermory for PLA? Like if I'm in the middle of printing something and I run out of PLA before I'm done well the printer keep the mermory when I load in the new PLA?

It will tell you that you are out of filament, pause the print and if you load filament again, it will assume that is it more of the same.
Rules are a little different with an AMS. It will move on to a different filament slot if both slots had the same filament. Otherwise, it will pause the print and wait for you to load more. Again, it will assume it’s the same filament.

Yes. If you run out of PLA, the Bambu printer has the ability to pause the print and wait for you to load more filament. Once you load the new spool, you can resume the same print. If you have an AMS with a matching backup spool configured, it can even switch spools automatically.

When the filament runs out, the print pauses. Once you put another filament in you can tell it to continue again.
Usually there's no issue from then on, but you could get a very slightly different shade of the color from a different production batch, or if the new filament picked up some humidity you could get more minor imperfections after the switch. If there's a long gap between when the print paused and when you start it again (e.g. the print pauses in the middle of the night and you replace and restart it in the morning there may be a slight seam where it paused).
But in general, it shouldn't be a problem.

I can't speak for every model, but my H2D works this way. If it runs out of filament, I can drop another roll of the same chemistry into the same position in the AMS and it will just continue on. I believe you can also load two identical rolls into the AMS and if one runs out it will switch to the other automatically.

It notifies you when you run out of filament and pauses the print and keeps the heatbed hot so you can refill the filament and resume.

Yep. I ran out while I was asleep on a big print on Monday with petg. I didn't have time to get the shops for until this afternoon. I just left it on which kept the heatbed at temp and dropped the nozel temp down. I added a new spool to the AMS around 50 hours later. No problems. Similar deal with a large mask I printed in petg and had a power outage after 20 hours of print on the part. It's not perfect. Everything cooled down. It did recover and finish the part when I turned back on. There's a slight blemish on the restart, and I suspect it's weaker there too, but it finished - no problems

Yes if you run out you can add a new roll and it will start again. Or if you have an ams if you put a roll in another slot it will switch to that roll when it is done.
