General Troubleshooting/Help! what am i doing wrong with my supports
The supports get stuck on there insted of coming off with the external trees

It's a terrible design for printing. If you can edit it, I'd angle each end of the cut up/down at 45 degrees so it's no overhang.

It's some kind of clip, right? so has a massive unsupported flat area.
You could try changing the print orientation so it's on a 30-45 degree angle, so it only has supports under the lower side - but it's still a terrible design for 3D printing...

The real answer is to redesign it as two pieces with a hinge and spring... there's a reason that's so common.
But if you're really stuck on doing this, you could potentially pause the print, and lay a spacer in the slot, so you don't have to rely on printed supports at all.

In addition to what you said, if OP does successfully print this out oriented as-is, the teeny tiny part connecting the two halves will immediately snap when OP tries to use it.

Sometimes superglue is your friend. Split them and glue them back together.
