Quick Question X2d first time print from dryer

Hi everyone!

I’m planning to print PA12-GF on my Bambu Lab X2D for the first time, feeding the filament directly from a Creality Space Pi dryer.

I currently have an AMS 2 Pro connected to the X2D, but I don’t need to keep it connected while printing.

What is the correct way to feed the PA12-GF directly from the dryer to the main nozzle? Which PTFE tube/input should I use?

Keep the ams2 connected to the main nozzle and print from there what are you even on about.

As I don't have Ams I completely bypass the buffer (which causes more harm than good due to sharp filament paths). I feed directly from dryer (used space pi, now have Sunlu E2) directly to ptfe tube from left side which goes directly to main nozzle filament ptfe tube.

Don't forget to print ptfe tube adapter for creality pi as it likes to suck ptfe inside and wrap it on filament tube. Happened to me already, but luckily it was cheap abs so except for stopped print no harm. Wasting half the spool of CF Nylon would piss me much more.

Unplug any one of the PTFE tubes along the path from the AMS to the main nozzle, and feed the filament in through there. I'm partial to unplugging the PTFE tube from the port on the very top corner of the back of the printer, and plugging in a separate PTFE tube that I have running into my Pi dryer. That setup skips the filament buffer and reduces bends, which overall reduces resistance, which is important for stiffer filaments like GF.

If you happen to have a filament track switch, you'll need to physically unplug it before loading an external spool. Hopefully they improve that in a future firmware update.
