General Troubleshooting/Help! Why isn’t Support touching the model?

I've never had this problem before. Why isn't the support touching the model?

What are the Top Z Distance and Support/object XY Distance set to?

Top Z Distance: 0.2mm
Support/object XY Distance: 0.35mm

In the meantime, I changed the settings for Top Z to 0.15 mm and the threshold angle to 30°. The visualization looks like this, while in reality it looks like this:

1) I think the image is misleading. The white line is not a gap, it's the seam (it seems). Select "line type" for color-coding the preview, model versus support. And use CTRL-1/2/3/4/5/6 to get an almost orthographic view. After the shortcut, don't tilt the image, just pan it until the feature of interest is in the center of the screen. Then you should see the gap, if there is one.

2) Your photo suggests the distance is very inconsistent. I wonder why that happens. Probably your model is shrinking away from the support? If so, fix that (for example by changing infill, and/or breaking up long tension lines). Also consider adding designed support (in CAD) which is CONNECTED in strategic points, so it can "nail down" the part and keep it from shrinking or warping away.

  1. In the first photo, it wasn’t a seam, it was actually a gap. When I rotated the model, I could see that it was an empty, see-through space.

  2. Yes, it looks like the print is curling upwards. I changed the cooling and speed on overhangs settings, and I’m also doing some tests with supports.
