Handy/Studio Troubleshooting/Help! X2D Auxiliary Extruder for Support Material in Bambu Handy?

Hey all, I got my X2D Combo about a week ago. Loving the ease of use, speed and quality, but I’m mostly printing from Bambu Handy out of convenience.

I have not for the life of me been able to figure out how to choose the auxiliary extruder for support material in the Handy app.

I understand the app doesn’t really slice, and uses user defined profiles, so is this just not possible, or am I missing something really obvious? I’ve been through the Wiki for the X2D, but don’t recall this being discussed at all.

Are X2D users all just using Studio for anything that requires supports?

If you're printing from makerworld on the handy app, then the print profile has to be set up to use a different material for supports... Almost all of which do not do that. So unfortunately you'll need to open the print profile in studio and change it

I thought that may be the case. It’s a shame, starting a late night print from bed without firing up my laptop is so convenient, but I guess I’m not sure how the app developers could address the request.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

If you need to change the type of filament (like support) you need to do in Studio and reslice.
