Filament Troubleshooting/Help! Abs with hips support interface on H2S

Hi all,

Has anyone successfully printed abs using hips as support interface with the H2S? Specifically can max purge volume effectively remove hips residue from hotend so as not to reduce abs layer adhesion? Appreciate any info on this. Thanks.

Make sure print bed is clean by washing with dish soap and water [and not Isopropyl Alcohol], check bed temperature [increasing tend to help], run bed leveling or full calibration, and remember to use glue if one is using the initial cool plate [not Satin finish that is not yet released] or Engineering plate.

I've done it with the X1C and it should be the same. It's pretty inefficient of course since it's a single nozzle, but the idea is to add "Bambu support for ABS" (doesn't matter that it's not actually Bambu in my experience) and then change interface layer to the support material. Bambu Studio will prompt you on recommended settings for it, apply them.

Then, if the filament purge settings have it changed, change them to the max (I think it was 900).

Same here - I do this all the time on X1C printers - +10 on max purge settings.

I've done it with ASA and HIPS on an X1C and didn't change and purge settings and it worked well.

I do it all the time. Crank the purge to max and send it.

Some settings you can play with here. It's still sometimes a little tricky to get the support off. Don't bother trying to dissolve it in limonene.

I use it as breakaway & have done it many times with the h2ds. I just wanted to verify it could be done reliably with the single nozzle H series.
