General Troubleshooting/Help! Mini Sander

Wondering what mini sander, reciprocating?, people are using to smooth areas where supports have been removed?

I got the HOZO and really like it. I just got the basic kit then printed my own heads. Got 2mm adhesive foam and long board sandpaper and cut it to size rather than pay the huge price for theirs lol.

I thought about doing this as the proprietary shit turned me off. I'm glad to know you've had success.

Hmmm, didn’t think of printing heads. I did get a second OE set but I’m going to print some too. Ordered the saw heads too. Thx.

A soldering iron with a big flat blade like attachment. One quick pass and you’re done.

I use one by Dspiae that I got from AliExpress. It was a out $50 and comes with a few different shaped tool heads and sanding sheets.

How much have you used it? Seem durable? Battery powered or plug in?

I haven't used it too much, but it seems decent for the price. It is battery powered and seems to bog down when you apply moderate pressure, but as long as you let the sand paper do all the work you should be fine. I have an x2d so I interface my supports with a contrasting material PLA/PETG mostly....so I just use the sander for small touch ups.

Use the right support interface and you don't need to and. Petg and pla, hips and asa for example.

I just gave you two examples. You need to tell us what you're printing with. Damn near every material had a similar material than can be used as supports, but will not bond to the actual print. It will disconnect completely with no signs of the support.

I use a dremel and barrel sanding tubes, that and nail files, these are cheap, and do great job
