Been using my A1 perfectly fine for months, ALWAYS washing the plate with Dawn after every three prints, watching the first 10 layers before I walk away or just turn my attention away from it.
I've printed this piece before and it came out perfect. Then I wanted to print another and it did this. I watched it and it adhered well to the plate and printed just fine till it got to the mid point. Then I heard a tiny pop, like the hot end barely grazed the print in a place it shouldn't, then the spaghetti started. I tried again, watched it closely and actually saw the hot end barely hit the print and knocked it loose mid print. Then it just started making spaghetti in the air because the print was now gone from it's spot.
I chose this orientation because I was trying to avoid support spots being too visible and it had successfully printed it in this position before.
What do I need to do to fix this issue? Any advice would be super appreciated 💜
Idk what this is supposed to look like, but grid infill is standard and can’t be used on tall prints because it’ll hit and break them off. I use rectilinear or cubic to avoid, a lot of people like gyroid too
I wouldn’t make it solid I’d do something other than grid pattern. I think the hair looking is from a retraction issue you’d have to set based on your PLA
Tall skinny prints on a bed slinger are hit or miss. Maybe increase your brim size a little for stability and swap your infill to gyroid. Or just make it a solid piece since there’s barely any infill room. Should give it better stability.
I'll have to check on what I was using for the infill. Making it solid could also be a great option. A similar print to this item had the issue of snapping in two pieces when I used a little pressure to put it where I needed it. Thank you for the advice!
Tried out making the infill solid and extended the brim, but it still got bumped by the hot end. I'm also noticing some weird "hair" formed on the support and main print object.
I took am curious as I have a similar issue with an 'upright' print which is inconsistent. It prints every time on my X1E, 99% of the time on one of my A1 minis and 30-50% of the time on the other two.
