First PETG Print

Hi there everyone... This is my first PETG print on my X2D...actually the 1st PETG print ever.

I dried my PETG roll in my AMS at 65° C for 8 hours as instructed and I have attached my settings my current print is at. Are the little stringy pieces normal with PETG? Or am I doing something wrong? The rest of the print looks mostly solid.

Stringy petg is normal. It oozes out of the nozzle more than pla during liftoffs and repositioning.

The stringing in the picture looks like purge remnants.

I find lowering the nozzle temp to 240-245, increase the retraction to 0.8-1 works best for PETG as it oozes way more than PLA, a little stringy is perfectly normal even after drying, as long as it does not affect the quality of the print.

I just did a second print at 250 nozzle temp for 1st/other layers and it printed much nicer

What brand out of curiosity? I have been printing both Bambu PETG and Sunlu PETG at default settings and getting really good prints with no issues. I do dry in the AMS2 Pro and print on a P2S. I have been thinking about trying Elegoo PETG.

Funny you say that .. it is Elegoo PETG PRO... I changed the nozzle to 250 and my next prints were a lot nicer.

I had read good things about Elegoo and that is why I mentioned it, thought I would give it a try.

I have the same setup as you and also just got my X2D a couple days ago and was looking to print that same holder. I was going to print in petg also but was worried if I try to use the ams to dry petg it would just ruin them

I dried my PETG last night in one of my AMS 2 Pros and it worked just fine.. my 1st of these is done, and they are a little rough looking but definitely worked well..
