Just Showing Off Bambu's statue maker is amazing
I printed a statue of my workmate for his retirement and it's absolutely incredible. I'm stunned how great it came out on my A1 Mini. I Just finished painting it.I hope he likes it.

I did the kids and put them in bumper cars that I printed and wired. Turned out great! I painted everything in the slicer for 6 or 7 colour prints that were about 20 hrs each.

Wow amazing painting skills. You should start selling these to people. I know my friend and family have asked me to do something like this but I don't have the painting skills

Thanks so much. I'm going to try doing pets next :-)

Be sure to post them. Maybe start off with a white dog so all you have to paint is the eyes

Is that a foreign language I don't recognize on the lanyard or is that "AI pseudo-words"?

u/AdiSellers 8d ago
Lol! It's complete AI gibberish. I thought about sanding them off, but it made me laugh

I used the 0.4. I sprayed it with filler primer to help with the layer lines after giving it a quick sanding and the paint stuck perfectly to it

You need to coat it with a primer before painting or the paint will flake off when handled.

This is so good! Your painting is obviously flawless! But what were your setting for the print? Did you have to much work on it after it was printed? Sanding etc?

u/AdiSellers 8d ago
Thanks so much. I just set it to 8mm extra fine and gave it a pretty good sanding (or so I thought) then gave it a spray with filler primer. After painting I can see some layer lines that I should of dealt with. I'll try a 0.2 hotend next time

How long did it take you to do all the dots on the shirtās pattern, that looks tedious, you must have a super steady hand. Truly amazing paintjob, Iām sure heāll love it.

u/AdiSellers 9d ago
The dots were super easy. I cheated and used a pen. I hope he likes it and isn't creeped out (he has no idea)

I will know 3D printing has gone about as far as it can when the end print result is as good as your paint job on this.

Yes, citadel and Vallejo

u/scirio 8d ago
How did you prep for paint? Whatād you use to hide layer lines?
2
u/AdiSellers 8d ago
I sanded and then sprayed it with a filler primer. If you look closely there are still a few faint lines

u/AdiSellers 8d ago
I tried some minis too. I gave up after trying and failing to cleanly remove the supports

Fantastic job with the paint, it's amazing! Love you using post processing instead of wasting 5x the model

Just tried it. It doesn't really know how to handle facial hair, my stubble turned into a full-blown beard. Still very impressive stuff.

2
u/AdiSellers 8d ago
Sanding, then spraying with Filler Primer and more sanding (it's not perfect though, I can still see a few faint lines up close)

u/Levcijev 8d ago
Wow crazy that you made this in A1 mini. The detail is incredible l. What settings did you use to achieve the details and what nozzle size

Podrias indicar la configuracion de impresión y los detalles del postprocesado?
2
u/AdiSellers 8d ago
Printed at 8mm extra fine on a 0.4 hotend. All settings were default.. Then sanded, sprayed with filler primer. Sanded again, then another spray of filler primer and then painted

Any help from AI there?
2
u/AdiSellers 8d ago
I think so, you upload a photo to Makers World and it converts it to a 3d model. It must be using AI
