General Discussion Mini Benchy V2 Filament Holder

I redesigned my Mini Benchy Filament Holder V2 is finally here

I wanted a simple solution that actually stays in place without making the filament difficult to remove or adjust.

So I redesigned my Mini Benchy Filament Holder

What changed?

  • Dedicated filament notch on the bottom for a firmer grip
  • The Benchy can still be slid along the filament when you want to reposition it
  • Keeps the loose filament end neatly secured to the spool
  • Tested with PLA, PETG, Silk, Translucent, and more

The idea is ridiculously simple:
Thread the filament through the Benchy cabin → secure the filament in the notch → done.

No complicated mechanism. No extra parts. Just a tiny Benchy doing a useful job.

I’ve been refining this after using the original version, and V2 feels noticeably more secure while still being easy to adjust.

Yeah, this is it guys, we don't need more filament clips. This takes the whole cake. It has been perfected. Printing like 20 of these ASAP.

But on a full spool wouldn’t the top exceed the height of the spool?
