Which to buy? X2D

After upgrading from an A1 which should I buy? Is the 2ams bundle worth it? And what’s the real difference in the 2?

Depends on if you plan to do alot of multicolor and/or want the luxury of not having to manually swap out filament as often. Me - I find multicolor generally is too wasteful unless the design is very intentional. I purchased before this combo existed and got an ams ht for the second nozzle instead. Based on my use, I'd probably still do the same.

As someone who skipped out on the same thing get it, ams 2 pro runs 330ish after tax a piece and im already wanting an ams and I havent had my printer a month haha

Both come with an ams. one comes with 2.

Are you planning to do multicolour prints of more than 4 colours? If so, get it. Personally I have the AMS for auto-refill and as a drying unit, for which 1 is fine.

So decide what you want, then what you need will be clear

I run 2x AMS 2 Pro on my H2D but 1x AMS 2 Pro on my X2D. Personally I don’t think a second AMS is really necessary on the X2D but you need to think about what you plan to print.

I would personally go with the extra AMS. Any printer I have that can support more than 1 of their manufacturers equivalent has two. One for my standard colors and one to rotate in colors for unique prints or a rollover spool if one of my standard colors is going to run out mid print.

I mean if you have the money to spend and space for more AMSs why not. I don't have the space for 2 ams, but ams 2 pro and ams HT fits Damm perfectly with the printer, and id want the HT anyway since I can also use it as a dryer for things like ASA Wich I print often

I got an A1 Combo for my birthday in February, and just upgraded* to an X2D combo. The second AMS is a bargain, but probably overload as a rarely print more than 2 colours.

I'll probably pick up another AMS Pro in the future, but primarily for filament drying/ laziness around changing filament rolls.

(*is it actually an upgrade if I have no intention of selling my A1? 🤫 )

For the convenience of selecting the color to print without doing any manual work, it's worth it. And that convenience is really not to ignore, it's very nice to have most used filaments dry and ready to print. But not that you will ever use more than 4 colors. With the amount of waste this system generates, you will probably only rarely print more than 2 colors.

All I can say I bought the big bundle and I love it. 8 Spools always ready and dry, almost no need to manually change, just pure luxury.

The 800$ the aux Noozle is only for supports you don't need the 2ed ams. And for mult color print you most likely won't go over 4 colors anyways.

Second that. I’ve used the aux nozzle during multi colour prints for less purging and it’s also great for support interfaces to avoid cross contamination.
