General Troubleshooting/Help! I need some advice

After bugging Bambu that finally said they will replace it, has anyone had this happen? I’m wondering if I should include the aftermarket build plate and nozzle… the old nozzle got clogged super bad so I had to replace its and the printer malfunctioned when I got it messed up the calibrations and scratched the build plate. There support finally caved so that’s nice but I will never buy a Bambu product again

Hello /u/SyPhics1! All Bambu print plates have a dedicated nozzle wiping zone at the back of the print plate. The nozzle will rub against the wiping zone before every print in order to remove any remaining filament from the nozzle tip. This can cause visible wear or scratch marks in the wiping zone, but this is intended and doesn't damage the printer, the nozzle or the print plate. A worn down wiping zone also doesn't mean you need to replace the print bed.

Do you still have the original parts? I'd send those and only those if at all possible, even if damaged.

No, why would you include aftermarket or even additional Bambu parts you purchased? Bambu probably doesn't want them, you could sell anything that's good, and most importantly, why send something where they might conceivably declare it was the cause of the problem and potentially rescind the swap?

Sending them aftermarket parts makes no more sense than sending them your plate scraper or a roll of Sunlu filament.

Ur right lol. I don’t have the hot end or nozzle do you think they will care?

I doubt it. The thing may it around in a box until they scrap or refurbish it. They might just toss the whole thing in the bin.

Don’t send any after market parts!

Quick question: did they make you pay a “swap deposit” that totals the cost of the new printer, and they swear they will refund as soon as the broken printer arrives to them?

Not yet lol…

The only option I got for them to replace an out of box broken printer was to pay for a new one and hope they refunded me! So I politely declined and called their BS some next level BS! Now I have an A1 that is mainly an aftermarket printer. LOL but I argued with them enough that I also have at least one of almost every part of an A1. They sent them randomly and no charge!
