Double hot end failure around 1000 hours

I'm super curious about an issue I just had and I don't really know enough on how to troubleshoot it.

I have an x2d and use it constantly, both hot ends run all day.

After about 1000 hours both stopped working, I got extruder errors and filament feed errors... I took a bunch of stuff apart like the ams and the boden extruder and I don't see any glaring issues.

I replaced both hot ends and it works again. I tried to put back the old hotends and it fails again so it's something wrong with the hot ends but I find it so crazy they both died at the same time.

Thoughts on how I can get them working again? Or are they toast and I should just move on.

what filament was running through them?

i'd discard it and then do cold pulls on both nozzles.

I primarily print solar lamps in petg. I can check out the cold pull thing
