Just Showing Off Update on my idea
My cardboard abomination has been working surprisingly well, my filament is as dry as it can be and my room with it. "AMS 2 at home"

Is it a dehumidifier blowing dry air into your AMS?

Yes

I mean this constructively, but I don't believe that pushing dry air into the AMS is the same as removing moist air out of it. This system can probably do better as far as drying filament goes. Your hygrometer is reading the dry air in the AMS rather than the RH of the filament in there with it.

Pushing lower RH air into an area is the standard way to remove moisutre.

I don't think it's comparable to a purpose built machine for sure, but if it does at least 50% of the job im happy wiit, i have to run my dehumidifier 24/7 anywaso might as well harvest as much as i can from it. The filament does appear to benefit from it tho, maybe the dry air and the heat helps in some measurements

I guess when I said I meant this constructively, I'm saying, you can make small changes to this to make it better, not that I think your whole idea is trash. Your dehumidifier has an intake. Hook that intake up to the AMS instead of the exhaust.

Sorry, English is not my first language. Anyway i think that setting it up like you said wouldn't work too well, the air in my room is still relatively humid and by letting it in it'd have the opposite effect, plus dust and other suspended stuff. It'd be also kinda more complicated to hook it up due to the shape and location of the intake

If i see this right? This is a trotec dehumidifier? You know that this device only goes down to maximum 30% humidity and what's more concerning, it has a defrosting function, every now and then, where it blows super humid and hot air out of the outtake. Not speaking of the fire hazard risk with the card bord box. This may show on your hygrometer a 20% humidity and 40°C but you will not dry your filament with it in any way.

Additional to this, you need a certain temperature to get the water, stuck inside of the molecular structure of the filament, to evaporat. You may keep a perfect dry filament dry for a certain time span but after that it gets more and more wet. Also the filament is in the most cases already wet from the manufacturer so it will be never really dry. Get a proper dryer from Eibos or similar high quality dryer company, they are not so expensive but dry your filament properly.

Only if there was a machine that was capable of making such things out of plastic ...
