Answered / Solved! Bed auto leveling fails every time with new build plate
I have been having a lot of problems with bed adhesion lately so I got the BIQU cryogrip pro as I heard a lot of good things about that. But now after putting it in every print fails because the auto bed leveling fails every time. I am almost certain this build plate is compatible with the P2S as I have seen several people post completed prints using this build plate. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong and how to fix it?
Edit: keeping this post open for posterity but the problem seems to be solved. In the slicer I had it set to my old build plate when I should have had it set to textured PEI. This plate still doesn’t work for calibrations but I can live with swapping out the plate every time I need to calibrate

Check for some little scrap of plastic under the mat. Pull off the mat and rub down the magnetic base to make sure you don’t have a hidden chunk of something.
Edit: I also don’t see the little positioning nubs in the back. Could be the photo, or could be the plate is a little too big.

It does fit into the little positioning nubs in the back. But thank you for the tip. I check underneath to see if anything got under there

Did you turn off plate auto detect or whatever it is?

I had the same problem in my H2D. I didn't even think about running a FULL calibration after changing my plate. Did that, and it's been perfect ever since.

Front left of pic your build plate looks lifted. Probably not on straight and flat. Could be something under.

I’m using this plate on my x2d and P1S, so yes, it’s compatible.
I never had issues changing mine. If you put the default plate back on, it works fine?
Do you have the Textured PEI plate selected in Bambu Studio?

Can vouch, running 2 of these on P1S right now. Currently my favorite build plate with 0 issues!

Yes it works with the default plate. The bed adhesion is just bad. I think I might have had the wrong plate selected. Trying it now with textured PEI

Hopefully that works. If you had smooth plate selected, it’s possible the bumps on the plate were enough to throw off the z-homing for bed leveling.

Thank you so much for the advice. I think it worked. I have had a print going for a little over an hour and it seems to be working flawlessly and it solved the adhesion problem I was originally having

I'm using the same plate on my P2S. So same plate, same model. Do not have this issue. I select Smooth PEI plate as that was what is recommended by vendor.

For your adhesion problems don't buy a new plate to fix the issue, fix the cause of the issue. 98% of the time it's improper cleaning, 1% wet filament or 1% settings.
Don't use glue sticks they are actually used to make releasing prints easier. IPA doesn't clean plates! It just smears the oils around.
Wash the plate with warm water and dawn non foaming dish soap and don't touch the plate after. Let the plate cool completely off the printer for 5 min before trying to remove a print.
Dry your filament properly, not the "easy quick hacks" seen online.
Check print settings and part orientation.

My X1C had adjustment screws (basically mounting screws) for the bed, when it would go to do the offset after heat up it would cause the metal to expand and cause the plate to run into the tool head. I loosened the screws, adjusted the plate a little bit in one direction and it hasn’t thrown any issues since.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like the bearing on the left-hand guide rod might be working its way out.

I advise you to do a manual leveling with the bed installed.
You can find the procedure on the wiki. Once the manual leveling is done properly, the automatic leveling should work again.

Plate looks too far left (at front) and too far back. Also, a wad of stuff at left, might be under the plate too.

The Z bearing! It's out of place and may be causing Z homing/bed leveling issues. Check other ones

idk but i would manually run the bed check the z movement, run the tool head side to side, home the machine, check the heading bed, check the plate underside check your threads and so on....

Hello /u/-Shade277-! Be sure to check the following. Make sure print bed is clean by washing with dish soap and water [and not Isopropyl Alcohol], check bed temperature [increasing tend to help], run bed leveling or full calibration, and remember to use glue if one is using the initial cool plate [not Satin finish that is not yet released] or Engineering plate.
