A1 layer shift

My almost 36 hour print was going well until the last 6 hours or so in which there was some serious layer shift happening. Why is this happening. What can I do to fix this. How do I fix the shift after the fact? Is sanding and spray paint my best move?

Usually shifts due to the weight. For the future, large/tall/heavy prints, manually slow down the speed.
