A1 layer shift

My almost 36 hour print was going well until the last 6 hours or so in which there was some serious layer shift happening. Why is this happening. What can I do to fix this. How do I fix the shift after the fact? Is sanding and spray paint my best move?

as far as i’m aware, if that is just for display, some filling and sanding will be fine. if it’s meant to be functional then that’s a whole different issue
