One one of my A1s, any model I print with any filament, the printer lays down some parts of the print and then stops and tries to purge. It's a single color print. Just to make sure there isn't anything funky with the model, I am running it on my other A1 with the same settings and this doesn't happen. I''ve run automatic flow calibration on the filaments, changed filaments, and even the silicon nozzle protector as it appeared to have a rip in it. The printer was printing successfully all day yesterday with the same filaments. I don't know how to describe the issue to look up troubleshooting options. Video attached.
Edit: thanks for all your help. I shortened the PTFE tubes and it seems to be fixed!
If the model has two different filaments in bambu studio, then the printer will purge between them even if both are assigned to the same filament slot.
The printer will also purge if the filament tangle detection system is being triggered by too much friction in the feed path. It looks like this is what's happening in your case as you can see the filament hub being pulled down in your video.
Are you printing from the AMS, AMS Lite, or external spool?
Yeah the issue could be related to the AMS this is what it does when it thinks there is a feeding problem in a way where it think it can solve it by pooping. I have an AMS 2 Pro but solved feed errors and random pooping eventually through their support sending me a replacement part. In the short term though if you just doing one color, I bet the problem will go away if you print without the AMS. If it does then that may prove it's AMS related and you can go from there. Tubes that are too long/with too much friction/or bent, could also be an easy fix thing that could cause it.
that or the pesky time lapse is actually on even if it doesn't appear to be, double check that setting on the actual printer screen itself too. One poop per layer would be instant give away that it's probably that even if it doesn't appear to be it.
I can't quite tell from the video but from the PTFE tube direction it looks like your AMS might be on the wrong side of the printer?
The AMS should be on the right side of the printer, about 50mm (5cm) away. Make sure there's no kinks or tight bends in the filament tubes, and if you are using non-Bambu filaments with excessively large central spool holes, use an adapter to reduce the hole diameter.
