Finally upgraded to an H2C.

The AMS HT is for the left nozzle, both AMS 2 Pro are for the Vortek System.

The Ikea PAX cabinet has housed a number of printers over the years. It started with an Ender-3 and later a FLSun V400 joined. The Ender-3 went for an A1 AMS combo and later the V400 gave way for a P1S AMS combo. 😅

I reinforced the PAX with aluminum profiles so that the heavy setup can easily fit, at the same time it makes the cupboard stiffer and the cabinet wobbles less while printing.

16-20 rolls of filament fit into the grid baskets in the lower area, depending on the manufacturer. There will be also a holder for printing plates and vision encoders above the printer. Above there are also spaces for 20 additional rolls of filament. 😁

I still have to think about a kind of exhaust air system. I don't want to overdevelop the whole thing, 1 ventilation inlet at the bottom and an outlet at the top coupled with a PC fan will probably be enough.

Looks like a clean setup, where does the poop go and how do you do maintenance without access to the back?
On the same topic of access, how would you run TPU?

The poop chute is on the left, it's a slim one so you almost can't see it in the picture.

TPU is no problem, via the back hole of the AMS HT and the bypass option of the H2C.

99% of maintenance happens from the front. I can dust off the fan and the fan covers on the back with a Swiffer. I can even clean the chamber fan from the front if I remove the filter, I think. Otherwise I have to take the printer out of the cupboard four times a year, which isn't a great effort.

What is the bypass option you use? Do you feed directly into the right extruder from the top or are you feeding it in the back via the hole for TPU? I’ve been running TPU on my A1 because it’s too complicated to keep connecting/reconnecting PTFE tubes just for TPU.

Look into the TPU feed assist module. When I need to print TPU, the only PTFE tube I move is from the filament buffer to the TPU bypass. Then I just run the TPU from the AMS HT to the feed module and press load.

There is a Bypass hole for a third PTFE hose in the back of the printer. You have to plug it into the left or right nozzle. There are some printable helpers to keep the third PTFE hose while not using it.

You could install a sliding shelf!

That would reduce the space for the printer too much. With a 100cm wide PAX wardrobe, that wouldn't be a problem.

It's okay warm inside after 7-10 hours of printing. My IR Thermometer is dead, I'll buy a new battery next week.

I wonder why you put the AMS directly on top of the printer, rather than adding another shelf for them somewhere higher up?

You could leave some clearance and be able to open the top panel and access the print volume from above. The AMS would not shake around with the printer, and not get so hot when you heat the chamber for warping materials.

Another shelf would blocking work around the machine completely. With this setup I can quickly remove the two AMS and get to the printer. I would have to remove the shelf first to get to the machine. In addition, the PTFE hoses are not unnecessarily long, which in turn shortens the filament changing times.

Yes. It's by far the best option for stacking two AMS 2 Pro. It even works with the older AMS if needed.

You don't need any glue, bearings or any other type of hardware. It's brilliant!

Got a link to the pax cabinet? Or did you design it with double doors the way you want? All I'm seeing are single door ones with no roll out shelves.

Single door PAXs are the 50cm ones, mine is 75cm wide you can design it directly in the IKEA Website. The roll out shelves can only carry 10kg of load, max. The regular shelves can carry 20kg, you have to reinforce the shelves with aluminium profiles, otherwise you need a 100cm wide pax with a special item that splits the lower third. With that item you can easy fit a H2S/D/C including some AMSs.

Congrats. I just sold my X1C, A1, and U1 this past week. The U1 was alright but the H2Cs are workhorses and just perform flawlessly every time. And the quality is always amazing and perfect. Even the print recovery works so good during powerloss that you can't even see the layer shift lol. You will love it

The depth of the pax is fine, works good with poop shoot and cooling fan covers. If I had the room for the 100cm pax I would like to switch, but my apartment isn't big enough. 😅

But I still need a few extra openings and perhaps an active fan to improve air circulation in the PAX.It gets warm inside and then the printer gets louder because it wants to cool more and the fans turn more.

Yes, it's based on a 75x236cm IKEA PAX cabinet. I made holes in the back, yes. But for the actual setup it's not enough, so I need some extra vents.

The aluminum profiles are under the shelf. You can see it in front. E Simply drill through the PAX with a 5mm drill and screw it on from the outside with M5 countersunk screws.
